1. VARIETY! It’s different every day. I get to interact with such a varied groups/people. It means I am always learning. Either from the nicest guests to easy going backpackers or a little more demanding guests (love the haters!:)). So my job still remains challenging.
2. Hospitality is creative: we are a people-oriented industry and we are a creative industry. You have the opportunity to be innovative and create a product, a beverage, an experience, or a memory. We have been asked for an opinion on a regular basis, and we are allowed to speak our mind without fear.
3. Hospitality is global: I love learning transferable, useful skills which enable you to build a career. As you do so, by communicating and listening, you discover new countries, new cultures and new people.
4.Flexible hours: Night shift, morning shift, allday allnight, bar crawlers, morning people, a friend, family..
5. On the most basic level, I enjoy talking with people. My job provides me an opportunity to put that basic urge to use for a purpose. I'm a very social person, so to have this at work it makes everything a lot better!
