Ljubljana is a good city to go party at every day of the week. Most popular and busy days for going out are Tuesday and Wednesday, and of course – Weekends. Whether you like to techno at huge clubs, go to alternative spots or just hang out and drink a beer – Ljubljana is the city for you!

A lot of times when I travelled to an unknown city I was in a situation where I wanted to go out, but had no idea where to go. So here you will find all the information where to go, where to get cheap drinks, how to meet new people and most importantly – Have the best night ever! :)

The city centre is full of different bars, pubs and club. Young people usually first meet and Congress square and hang out there for a while. The party starts late, after 23:00. Around the square you can find some of the most popular spots in the town. Just across the street is a very well-known bar called Parliament. Cheap drinks, popular music and good vibes make people dance right away. 1 meter wooden plank with blueberry shots is a must try. If you are not in the mood to party and loud music, visit Cutty Sark, where you can choose from a big variety of drinks and snacks.

After the bars, you will hit the clubs. Clubs are near by the Congress square as well. Usually entrance fee needs to be paid, but for it you get a drink and wardrobe for free. If you are a fan of commercial, Balkan, hip-hop or house music I recommend Top, Disco Bar, Cirkus and Zoo. Events vary from day to day so check their Facebook pages before going out. Top and Cirkus are a little bit more fancy and expensive so dress appropriately for the occasion. The other two are more laid back and popular between students and young people.

If you are more into alternative scene and underground music Metelkova City is perfect choice for you. Metelkova City is an autonomous social centre, located on the site of former military barracks. The site consists of seven buildings which include an art gallery, bars, artist studios, space for designers, offices of cultural organisations and concerts featuring different types of live music. To take some beautiful pictures of graffiti go there in the daytime.

If you are a solo traveller and want to meet new people go to Pub Crawl, which starts Monday to Saturday at 22:00 at Kapucinar bar next to the Congress square. You pay 15 euros to join and the animators take you to different popular locations. Funny games, animation, karaoke and free shots are just a few reasons why you should join them.
